Buying reverses the trade. Each payment builds your stake in a real asset in a city with deep, durable, local demand for housing. What you give up is mobility, liquidity, and calm — construction timelines, paperwork and market swings all become your problems.

Before comparing prices, compare horizons. If you can hold for years, ownership in Addis has rewarded patience. If your life may move within a short window, the flexibility of renting is not weakness — it is the correct position.
